Visits to Confiserie 1844
Artisanat & savoir-faire MonteuxPresentation
Discover the secrets of the family-run Confiserie 1844 where Caroline and Michael POMIES and their team, all passionate about the Vaucluse region, will show you the secrets of their know-how....
Discover the secrets of Confiserie 1844, a delicious journey in which you will witness the making of our specialties at the foot of Mont Ventoux. One thing's for sure, you won't regret it!
In fact, depending on the progress of production, before or after the tour you'll be treated to a short presentation of the confectionery and, of course, a tasting session for those with a sweet tooth, young and old alike!
Before your very eyes, the confectioner will transform molten sugar into candy dough, and then, to your delight, the dough will take on the fun shapes of berlingots and lollipops. As he prepares the dough, he'll explain the process and his gestures, and you'll enjoy the delicate aromas and vanished flavors with him.
You'll discover our star product from the region, the 'berlingot' from Carpentras, and all our handcrafted creations, lollipops, fruit jellies, marshmallows, chocolates... A true immersion in the world of confectionery.
You'll learn all about the different stages involved in making these sweets:
- From flavoring and coloring the dough to cooling, kneading and damming.
- A ride on the 1930s candy train
- Old-fashioned candy making, with frosting in the candy moulds.
- Fruit jellies
- Handcrafted lollipops
In the store, you can treat yourself to a range of chocolates and confectionery, with natural flavours and vegetable dyes.
This is a gourmet visit where you'll leave with souvenirs for the whole family, because we've got something for everyone!
